If you have a smartphone (iPhone, Blackberry, Android, etc.) and live in a major city, then chances are you have the Loopt application installed. Well according to TechCrunch, if you use Loopt to “check in” at any Chipotle, Panera Bread, or Whole Foods anywhere in America, then Loopt will donate $1 to the relief effort in Haiti. Half of the money will go to the America Red Cross with the other half going to Doctors Without Borders.
Even if you don’t have a smartphone, as long as you have internet connection on your phone, you’ll be able to access Loopt’s site and check in at your towns local stores.
This offer expires on Sunday, February 7, 2010.
